Changing blogging domain and site

Dear blogger friends, Lately, I had a few problems with the Blogger web site for my blog The Content Reader . I took this as a sign that I should finally create a web site of my own. I have been checking out other options, but could not get my act together. Finally, I have managed to create a basic web site with Wix, which I hope will be developed over time.  It has not been easy to find my way around. One thing one can say about Blogger is that it is easy to work with.  This site will no longer be updated Follow me to my new domain @  thecontentreader.com Hope to see you there.  Lisbeth @ The Content Reader

Paris in July 2018 - Bookmark Monday

The Content Reader

Paris in July hosted by Tamara at Thyme for Tea. Click the link for more info.

My Bookmark Monday meme, hosted by Guiltless Reading, has a Paris theme this week. Since I did not have any bookmarks to highlight the city, I decided to be a little bit creative and make one myself. I started out with a clothes label, that I had already used as a bookmark (yes, I use what is closest at hand!). It worked very well.

I do a little bit of scrapbooking and journaling and remembered seeing some papers with the Eiffel tower somewhere. Deb Nance at Readerbuzz posted about how often we see this tower on book covers. Well, this time it will be on the bookmark. The front of the bookmark turned out like this:

The Content Reader

The back turned out like this:

The Content Reader

My handwriting is appalling, so this was the best I could do. Will use this for my next book French.

  1. So creative! Bravo!
I read so many ebooks....'real bookmarks are not needed. When I travel or visit museums I still always look for bookmarks in gift shoppes!

    1. Thank you. Ebooks is easier to mark. I tend not to buy to many souvenirs these days, already have too many things at home. But a bookmark is a very nice remembrance of a place and it does not take a lot of space.

  2. Your use of whatever is at hand for a bookmark makes me think of a set of photos from a library of what they had found in books. I hope you've never used a sandwich! Or returned your glasses to the library in a book!

    1. Certainly not! Mostly anything paper like. Amazing, if that is what they find in the books.

  3. I do love a pretty bookmark- and yours in gorgeous, but I always use a blank bit of scrap paper so I can jot down things while I'm reading, make not of pages and quotes that I want to remember.

    1. What an excellent idea! I usually just use a post it not or something similar. But, wouldn't it be nice with a bookmark with space to mark down your notes. You can always save it in the book after words. My next bookmark will be created like that.

    1. Ebooks definitely are easier to bookmark. Since I have a lot of bookmarks from trips, which is the only souvenir I tend to buy these days, I pick one up. Otherwise, anything, even the receipt of the book is sufficient.

  5. How creative! And such a lovely way to celebrate this month.
You might inspire me to break out my cross stitch box for the first time in 5 years - a little French cross stitch bookmark could be a do-able project right now :-)

    1. Sounds like a wonderful idea and how beautiful it will look. Myself is allergic to needle and thread unfortunately! Let me know and show if you get around to do it.
