Blogging Anniversary - 10 years
A while ago I checked when I did my first blog post, in order to celebrate with an anniversary post. Well, that day came and went without any reaction from me. Better late than never, so here a reminder of my very first blog post from 24 October 2012. The book was New Finnish Grammar by Diego Marani. Marani is an Italian novelist, translator and newspaper columnist. While working as a translator for the European Union he invented a language ‘Europanto’ which is a mixture of languages and based on the common practice of word-borrowing usage of many EU languages. It was a suitable book to start with, being a book about letters, languages and memories. With a beautiful prose, the novel went directly to my heart. So creative! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteI read so many ebooks....'real bookmarks are not needed. When I travel or visit museums I still always look for bookmarks in gift shoppes!
Thank you. Ebooks is easier to mark. I tend not to buy to many souvenirs these days, already have too many things at home. But a bookmark is a very nice remembrance of a place and it does not take a lot of space.
DeleteYour use of whatever is at hand for a bookmark makes me think of a set of photos from a library of what they had found in books. I hope you've never used a sandwich! Or returned your glasses to the library in a book!
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Certainly not! Mostly anything paper like. Amazing, if that is what they find in the books.
DeleteI do love a pretty bookmark- and yours in gorgeous, but I always use a blank bit of scrap paper so I can jot down things while I'm reading, make not of pages and quotes that I want to remember.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent idea! I usually just use a post it not or something similar. But, wouldn't it be nice with a bookmark with space to mark down your notes. You can always save it in the book after words. My next bookmark will be created like that.
DeleteIm an ebook girl, but when i need a bookmark i tend to use whats laying around, surviette or receipt or brochure. But I love you Paris in July idea. Creative indeed.
ReplyDeleteEbooks definitely are easier to bookmark. Since I have a lot of bookmarks from trips, which is the only souvenir I tend to buy these days, I pick one up. Otherwise, anything, even the receipt of the book is sufficient.
DeleteHow creative! And such a lovely way to celebrate this month.
ReplyDeleteYou might inspire me to break out my cross stitch box for the first time in 5 years - a little French cross stitch bookmark could be a do-able project right now :-)
Sounds like a wonderful idea and how beautiful it will look. Myself is allergic to needle and thread unfortunately! Let me know and show if you get around to do it.
DeleteI think this is a wonderful idea, Lisbeth! You may inspire me to do the same! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see what you come up with. You are so creative so I am sure it will be something gorgeous.
DeleteSo pretty! I have several charming Paris themed tags I was sent a few years ago. I should make some bookmarks!
ReplyDeleteIt is great fun. Also nice to use something you have done yourself.
