It was a while since I posted on new bookmarks. We have been travelling, so I have collected a few bookmarks on the way.  Croatia We visited Sokol Grad an old fortress. Situated on a 25m high crag outside of Dubrovnik, it is a magic place. The name means 'Falcon Town'. It was built to guard the historic routes leading through the mountains to Hercegovina. As many of the places in Croatia it has been occupied from prehistoric times by the Romans, the Byzantines and other medieval states before Drubovnik took control. The fortress is restored and partly reconstructed and now houses a museum. Beautiful views as you can see from the photo.    Tirena Comedia, Marin Drzic (1508-1567) was a writer from the republic of Ragusa, Dubrovnik. He is considered as one of the finest Renaissance writer or plays and prose in Croatian literature. It was a must to visit his house in Dubrovnik. Summer time, holiday time. I am presently in Austria holidaying. The weather has been fabulous so me and my husband decided to inagurate our new tent, that we bought last year. We found it on the Caravan Fair in Düsseldorf and it was delivered to us in March this year. It is a big tent, so you can easy stand inside. It is really a tent to use with you car, but can also be used independently. We started out at Achensee, a beautiful alpine lake, 9 km long with tropical, green water. It is also icing cold. This year it had a record 19,5 C, due to the goo weather. Huuh! But, when you are warm and sweaty after a walk along the mountain walls of the lake, it is still quite ok. Once your in it is wonderful. It was a great camping facitily, with new sanitary areas, worthy a very good hotel. The village offered enough of restaurants to keep you going for a while.  After a couple of days there we continued to Walchsee, where we got a spot just by the water. Totally beautiful...

A room with a view in Verona! Back home after an intensive week of travelling. On Monday 3 August I flew to Verona, Italy, where Martin met me. One evening and a day in Verona doing all the musts there. Just strolling around is like walking in a museum! On to Lake Garda for one night in Lazise and its beautiful old town. The next day driving along the Lake Garda coast up towards its northern tip, where we went over the mountains and headed for South Tirol, Bozen/Bolzano. Continued north towards Innsbruck where we stayed two night with Martin's parents, and then on back home! Imagine doing this in degrees between 30 and 40 with humidity...it was a challenge, believe me. Especially for me who can't take heat that well. But considering the cold summer, I am not complaining.
