Changing blogging domain and site

Image
Dear blogger friends, Lately, I had a few problems with the Blogger web site for my blog The Content Reader . I took this as a sign that I should finally create a web site of my own. I have been checking out other options, but could not get my act together. Finally, I have managed to create a basic web site with Wix, which I hope will be developed over time.  It has not been easy to find my way around. One thing one can say about Blogger is that it is easy to work with.  This site will no longer be updated Follow me to my new domain @  thecontentreader.com Hope to see you there.  Lisbeth @ The Content Reader

20 Books of Summer

Image
This challenge is hosted by 746 books  and I will join this year. I really need to lower by TBR books and this might be the way. The overall rules below, but more on 746 book's website: Do you fancy getting 20 books off your TBR in three months? Think of the joys that this challenge brings:  All that deliberating over what books to choose and how many – 10, 15 or the Full Monty?  Crazed reading during the warmest months of the year  Decisions over how you measure your progress – by books read per month? Or pages read by day?  Panicked reviewing as you try to cram everything in to the time frame I will really try to follow the list. However, I know myself and as soon as I make a list to read I tend to read something out of the list! Yep, that me. Disciplin is the word I guess. These are books I really want to read, they have been on my shelves a long time, and... maybe this is the summer it will all happen. I go for 20, but you can choose 10 or 15...

My 20 Books of Summer

Cathy at Cathy 746 Books  hosted her annual challenge of 20 Books of Summer. It was up to participants to choose 10, 15 or 20 books from our TBR shelves to read between 1 June and 3 September 2017. A great challenge to lower the number of books on your shelves. I did not write a list but just choose what I was feeling like at the time. When I make a list I tend to read everything except the titles on the list! Yes, that's me. I opted for 10 books since I also tend to over estimate my capacity, it was summer and this year a lot of holidays for me. I am therefor rather pleased that I managed to read 13 books from my shelves. The books cover different genres and are rather easy reads, which is totally suitable for the warmer months of the year. Here is the list and links when there is a review. Chopra, Deepak - Self Power - Spiritual Solutions to Life's Greatest Challenges I ndridason, Arnaldur - Den som glömmer  (Kamp Knox) The Spy - Paulo Coelho Bryson, Bill - Note...

20 Books of Summer

I have been away for 12 days (London and Menorca) and had a wonderful time. More about that later. When I managed to go into feedly to read your blogs, I ran into this challenge. Sounds like a good idea for the summer. It is Cathy at Cathy 746 Books  who hosts this annual challenge;   20 Books of Summer. Well, since she admits the rules are a little bit slack, you can choose 10, 15 or 20 books from your TBR shelves. They should be read between 1 June 2017 and 3 September 2017. Suits me fine, since I want to read at least 50 books from my TBR shelves, if possible more. I have the same problems like some other bloggers, that as soon as I put a book down on a list, I dread to read it. I just don't know why. I hope this list will not cause me look for other books on my shelves. However, whatever book that disappears from there is a good deed. Here is my list: Bowen, McAleer, Blyth - Monsoon Traders, The Maritime World of the East India Company Bryson, Bill - Notes...
