Changing blogging domain and site

Image
Dear blogger friends, Lately, I had a few problems with the Blogger web site for my blog The Content Reader . I took this as a sign that I should finally create a web site of my own. I have been checking out other options, but could not get my act together. Finally, I have managed to create a basic web site with Wix, which I hope will be developed over time.  It has not been easy to find my way around. One thing one can say about Blogger is that it is easy to work with.  This site will no longer be updated Follow me to my new domain @  thecontentreader.com Hope to see you there.  Lisbeth @ The Content Reader

Classic Club Spin #26

The time has come for another Classic Club Spin, #26. To join, prepare your list of 20 books before Sunday 18 April, 2021. The book with the number from the spin should be read by 31 May, 2021.

I am still on my first 50 classic book list, but the non-read books do not cover the 20 list, so I am happy to have started on my second list; 51-100, although the list is still not filled with 50 books. I let myself be inspired by your choices and add books as I find them interesting.

Here is my updated list for the spin.

1. The Master and Margarita by Michail Bulgakov

2. Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Carter

3. Daisy Miller by Henry James

4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

5. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoj

6. Women in Love by D.H. Lawrence

7. Child Harold by Lord Byron

8. House of Mirth by Edith Wharton

9. The Red and the Black by Stendhal

10. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

11. Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak

12. The Wings of the Dove by Henry James

13. Sons and Lovers by D.H. Lawrence

14. Tom Jones by Henry Fielding

15. Moments of being by Virginia Woolf

16. Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

17. The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham

18. The Brothers Karamazov by Fjodor Dostoevsky

19. The House on the Strand by Daphne du Maurier

20. A Writer's Notebook by Somerset Maugham

Some of the books I don't have with me here in Austria. I will not be back in Sweden and my book shelves until preliminary end of May. If one of the books I don't have with me comes up, I will choose the next available book on the list. After all, the main purpose is to read all the books on the list.

  1. I read The Master and Margharita from my Classics Club list last summer & really liked it. I have The Razor's Edge on my spin list this time & in the same position! And Tom Jones is one of my favorite books. Hope you get something fun.

    1. I am happy to hear. The Master... will be a re-read, and I think I will be able to interpret it more thoroughly now than when I read it ages ago. I am much into Maugham after reading The Moon and Sixpence, so that would be a real hit. Funne, we have it on the same number. Let's hope for 17. Tom Jones is a classic I always wanted to read, but I dread it at the same time. I am not sure I will be enthusiastic, but who knows.

  2. What a great list. I also have "The Master and Margarita" on my list but I've read many of your books already, #s 3,4,5,8,9,10,11, 14 and 18. All great books. So, whatever will be chosen, enjoy!

    Here is my list.

  3. Yes, I saw you have it too. I have read it many years ago, but want to re-read it. I was not so much into more serious books when I read it, so think I will have another experience now.

    1. Ah, I see. Well, whatever number they draw, it won't be the same. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Sunday.
